As part of its effort to renew their brand look and feel, Delta airlines wanted to upgrade their inflight tableware to a while new level of elegance with more beauty and functionality using an exclusive collection which would carry on the unique identity of the airlines compatible with the renewed menu.
The design process looked into various aspects such as form factor studies, ergonomics, iconic detailing, material, color, finishing selection with mass produce-ability in mind to pair perfectly with the mouth-watering seasonal culinary creations served on board.
Roceso's finger therapeutic device was designed to use soft robotics actuators to help stroke patients to exercise their fingers. The Finger Actuator's design innovation was done in order to make the device suitable for manufacturing, without compromising the unique concept.
The initial 3D printed prototype was well tested and proven that the concept works efficiently, but due to its design and shape, conventional manufacturing was not able to fabricate. The original shape could not be compromised as they play an important role in the functionalities.
With these requirments, our design for manufacturability solution for the actuator, not only breaks the challenge of making the design production=ready but also retain the remarkable and efficient funtioning concept.
The design was created to bring out the "cutting edge" feel of the product which would emphasize the advantageous technology used by the PV Inverter. Hence it was created to seek harmony between engineering of the product and the design, whilst not being intimidated by the tecnological aspect of the product.
We wanted to create a design that could articulate a durable, long-lasting and reliable user experience, where the design would give the user a sense of trust towards the product's performance.
Always striving to better products from design to fabrication, we took up the challenge to transform this series of medial instruments without losing its original dunctionality.
Making good use of our experience in fabrication techniquw and knowledge in material characteristics, we fabricated an alternative with a metal frame and plastic housing to the originally heavy, costly and all-metal structure, Our new design allowed the priducts to cut 91% of its original weight, without compromising on its structural integrity, and helped our client achieve up to 80% cost reduction.
